Badges, timestamps and attestations
What gets recorded on Nera and why it matters for research credit.

Badges
Credentials such as Founding Fellow, Speaker and session attendance are issued as non-transferable tokens to your wallet. Anyone can verify them independently, and they can’t be bought or moved to someone else.
Prior-art timestamps
You can timestamp a paper or an idea. A cryptographic fingerprint (a hash) of the content is recorded on Nera with the time. The content itself stays private; only someone with the original can show it matches the fingerprint.
Benchmark attestations
Attesting a benchmark records a fingerprint of its runs and results. If the numbers are edited later, the fingerprint no longer matches, so readers can tell what was originally published.
Nothing about this requires buying or trading tokens. The wallet is an identity and a receipt book, not an account you fund.
Key points
- Badges are non-transferable and independently verifiable.
- Timestamps prove existence at a time without publishing content.
- Attestations make later edits to results detectable.
